Hi guys! So some of you may know I went to the Dominican Republic a couple of weeks ago with some family and friends. I absolutely loved it! From the people to the adventures it was definitely worth it. Aside from a whole vlog about it I'm also going in depth to tell you about the experience as a whole... because I'm that extra.
The Video
The Airport
So we arrived at the Punta Cana International Airport. The only reason I'm including it is because the airport was simply captivating. They made you feel so welcomed by having real bands playing, just the entire ambiance of the airport gave me a great vibe.

The Resort
We stayed at Ocean Blue and Sand which is an all inclusive resort in Punta Cana. I'm going to list off some of the perks this resort offers:
4 Pools
Beach
Spa
Sports such as tennis, football, beach volleyball, and more.
Theater with shows every night
Casino
Shopping Centers
8 Restaurants
Buffets
Disco Club
Open Bars
Bowling and Pool
& a bunch more fun surprises
Arriving there we were greeted with open arms from the staff. The room was nice and cozy but our view wasn't anything fancy. The food was your typical resort food. What I did like was that they had a lot of different options. The buffet was my favorite because it gave us a variety but if you're looking for a nice sit down then the restaurants are cool. The coffee shop was another favorite spot because the frappes were too fye! We enjoyed the pool more than the beach because there was a lot of seaweed on the beach which annoyed us. The pools were amazing we literally could have stayed there the whole trip and relaxed. They have a walk up bar, buffet, and a bunch of contests at the pool everyday. There is a show everyday in the theater which is cool, the one I enjoyed the most was Michael Jackson. There is also a club that's pretty nice and stays open til around 3AM. We made a lot of friends that worked on the resort and they were so nice. I recommend trying Mamajuana out there and do exactly what they do! It's fun. If you stay on this exact resort they have a free excursion about 15-20 mins from the area where you learn how they make cigars and cocoa, have rum tasting, and some cheaper shopping options. Behind the resort there is a bunch of inexpensive shopping options filled with beautiful paintings and souvenirs. One of my favorite parts was when me and my friends walked to another resort beach and watched the sunset.. mesmerizing to say the least.
Runners Adventure
There is so many excursions offered off the resort. Amstar is the travel management we went through when discussing excursions. They drove us wherever we wanted to go and made sure we were back safely. Amstar has a big variety of things you can do so you will never be bored. One thing that we did was Runners Adventure. This was a full day trip and such a great experience. The first thing we did was horse back riding. While riding through the Dominican Republic we got to view all the beautiful mountains and landscape. Next we went to the church Basilica Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia which is ranked among one of the most important religious sites in Dominican Republic. Then we went to the sugar cane fields and learned how to roll cigars. After we got to eat authentic Dominican food on the mountains which was so good! Later on we were welcomed into a Dominican home (Maria's house). What I loved about that was that they showed us how they lived, the process of making cocoa, and all the things they can produce with cocoa. To finish the day we spent it at the beautiful beach in Macao. Now this beach was 10x better than the one on the resort. It was so relaxing and captivating.
I can honestly go on and on about this trip. It was one of the best trips I've been on. One thing I can say is do not judge based on what you hear on the news. Never be afraid to travel just be mindful. Check out my video for all my visual peeps. Here are some pictures I took while here.
Sidenote: My mom is a travel agent and she books us with some of the best flights and resorts in the states and internationally in a very inexpensive way. If you would like an inquiry about a trip shoot her an email at cltcoastallifetravel@gmail.com
